Anyone else have a game lag/freezing up issue on the disk version of Yoshi? Mine gets so choppy it becomes unplayable. New wii u, new game so have no idea which is at fault. System is up to date also. Any help would be much appreciated!

  • I'm having major lag in the overworld and occasional freezing in levels.

  • I've experienced "choppy" frame rate dips. Initially, I thought that my disc was scratched so I thoroughly wiped it to remove any dust. But I read that your problem is somewhat common and that the way to avoid "choppy" frame rate dips is to leave the Gamepad screen on while playing, regardless of your controller choice. I play with the Wii Remote held sideways (the best control option), and

  • I found that solution worked for me too! I had switched out tge disk and switched out for a new wii u then found the prob still existed until that gamepad fix!

  • A new Wii U? I hope that you didn't lose too many hours worth of save data. Either way, I'm glad that leaving the Gamepad screen on fixed the lag/freezing problem. Again, send a message to Nintendo about this, and they'll hopefully issue a patch or make some sort of statement to inform others.

  • Nothing lost - it does a wii u transfer for everything including any external drives. Plus I'd only had the one I was playing on a few days.

  • Pro tip: If you really want the gamepad off while you play with other controllers, and not having the game freeze, take your gamepad away from you Wii U until the signal with the Wii U is lost, then power the gamepad down. Problem Solved!!!! Also a good idea when watching Netflix.
