Thing is Strettfighter V might not have been made if Sony had not moneyhatted it. With Capcom's woes in finances you think they would have partnered with each of the three to bring a version to each system with exclusive characters much like Namco did with Soul Calibur back in the day. But the deal has scuppered the release of past console versions of Streetfighter on other consoles, Wii U was --

- suppossed to get Street Fighter Ultra Four in a deal with Ryu in Smash but Sony's contract with Capcom has put a stop to it, i wont be getting SFV ,i wont surport titles that have been multi format for years that have a fanbase across various formatts that leave non owners without any chance of any Streetfighter .The contract is for all future iterations of the series until further notice.

It's likely a means to give Sony more exclusives. As much as many hate it, it's a necessary evil. And seeing how close Capcom and Sony are, I figured Sony would recieve SF exclusively, much like Deadrising on Xbox. It's unfair, but I feel exclusives are necissary. Same with Bayonetta 2, or Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Maybe but exclusives should be from the first parties in all honesty, it's this moneyhatting that has turned third parties into just looking as to who will pay the most for exclusive content , exclusive launch windows and so forth. I dont have to buy a particular make of DVD player to play certain films , i dont have to buy a certain make of CD player to listen to CD's. --

I DONT MIND PAYING for certain hardware to play proper first party products , ie Mario , Zelda ,Splatoon ect on Nintendo Halo, Gears of War , Forza ect on XBOX , or Gran Turismo, Jak and Daxter, and i actually cant think of any more for Sony.

It's something thats been done for so long. Though last generation consoles were to similar as most 3rd parties produced games on multiple consoles. Before then, consoles had exclusives be it 1st or 3rd. From FF7, Mischief Makers, even Castlevania even had exclusive versions on different consoles. It was a means to make consoles differentiate from one another.

It has its flaws too, as it's also a sales tactic. A means to get you to get this console for this game. But like before, its a necessary evil. Without exclusives, content would be to similar on all consoles. But exclusives also means more effort in said game. Wii had games that highly focused on the console in mind. Zack&Wiki for one. Exclusives more often mean more effort put in.

New discussion within this discussion: Who is your favourite character that you can't do without which is someone you always have to play as no matter which iteration of the series that character shows up in? For instance if you're a Cammy fan, you always find yourself returning to play as her as often as possible whether it is SF II, Alpha 3, etc. Who should continue and who should retire by now?
