  • Gack, I gotta try to stop being so negative with this one...but it's so hard. ~_~

  • Yeah, I hate secret base missions. I always make it a point to bring 1-2 Totter Orbs per secret base mission in case it's a trap (some of them are pretty obvious -- usually, shady Pokemon like Houndoom, Rotom, Golduck, and Dragalge plan on trapping you while mainly cute Pokemon like female Nidoran, Corsola, and Buizel would try to introduce you to some friends).

  • It takes a lot more planning now, that's for certain. It can be annoyingly unfair and unforgiving at times, but I'm enjoying the difficulty. Here's hints for legendary(or maybe just all) Pokemon: you'll be relying on status inflicting and stat gaining moves A LOT, more than I ever had to in the older games. Curse on a Ghost type against Legendary bosses... trust me. Spiritomb is now my best friend

  • Some of the secret base missions are shown to be fanservice to those who played the older PMD games. For those who played TDS, Corphish would introduce you to Sunflora and Croagunk, and Snover of Team Rogue would trap you in a Monster House. For those who played Red/Blue, Ninetales would introduce you to Absol (who even says that he met a human turned into a Pokemon a long time ago).

  • Some of the Pokemon in the friendly secret base missions sometimes joke that the party leader was thinking that the secret base was going to be a Monster House. Meanwhile, Golduck was trying way TOO hard to convince you that the room isn't going to be one.

  • With all the significant changes that GTI and this game have made, I just can't see myself referring to them as faithful successors.

  • @Neyelhsa (sorry if I missed the spelling) Thanks for the tips.

  • I chose to skip over GTI since I didn't like the fact that you can't recruit all (at the time) officially revealed Pokemon. Heck, you can't even recruit several Pokemon that are from Gen. 1-5 that still appear in the game like Kecleon. There's also the fact that you can only pick from a minuscule pool of 5 Pokemon for starter/partner.

  • Well, to each their own. This game however is a nice improvement over GtI's disappointingly low content(DLC dungeons, ~200 some odd Pokemon...) It also doesn't attempt to hold your hand very much, which I like, while still admitting the difficulty spike can be really unfair and more annoying than challenging. I think it's a good game, all the nods to the older games are just the icing on the cake.

  • "significant changes" Sure... Sorry you got your posterior kicked by that MH.

  • There is a reason that Tiny Reviver Seeds got introduced to this game -- the makers clearly knew that the party Pokemon will be fainting a LOT, not to mention that your own party Pokemon would be trying to feed each other Oran Berries if a fellow party member is on low health.

  • Yea, you'll be dying a lot. My box is 257 plain seeds deep because I have a reflex habit of keeping them from Spinda's Café. Oi... at least 5 reviver seeds are only 1 gold, and there's more gold in this game than I know what to do with. Thanks Cofarigus, you're a bro.

  • I cleared the MH. Since this game clearly acknowledges its own imbalance, it told me to head straight for the stairs. And so I did. This game isn't worth the increased blood pressure. :/ I like a good challenge too, but dang. This game's gonna force me to plan out everything ahead of time....which reminds me..."party members may be unavailable..." (continued)

  • Heheh, yeah. 5 Reviver Seeds is a better value for 1 Gold Bar than cash (since Cofagrigus only gives 555 Poke for 1 Gold Bar).

  • If they wanted to do this, they should've incooporated a "mercenary for hire system." On the one hand, you have your teammates that you recruit and control on your own. On the other hand, you have these pokemon whom you meet after jobs. This way, people could gain a little extra support without the added hindrance.

  • There is kind of an emergenvy system you can deploy right here on Miiverse. You can ask to be rescued by higher leveled players with QR codes and passwords by posting them in this community.

  • Well, yeah. I think even Red Rescue team had something like that, via a link cable. I was mainly referring to the in-game teammates you get from doing missions. They should give me the option to recruit pokemon traditionally, in addition to this connection orb system. This was I can gurantee that certain pokemon will always be available from the get go. I'm imagining planning a mission out, only >

  • Also, GTI left a bad taste in my mouth with pokemon forcing themselves into my team. Maybe I don't want them...you ever think about that, game? >:L

  • Dark Pulse and Discharge always used to come in handy with situations like these. Discharge was especially satisfying because it hit everybody, and if you were high enough level, it would just destroy everyone.
