Hello, I'm Hiromasa Shikata, the director. Thanks so much for playing The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes! Now, on to the update. You should know that it doesn't only add fun new elements to the game, it also contains adjustments that improve the online play experience.
12/02/2015 8:41 PM ·Spoilers
1. New area - the Den of Trials It's a little different from all of the other areas - it's all battle, all the time. You'll have to really exercise your sword arm to make your way to the very bottom!
12/02/2015 8:53 PM ·Spoilers
2. New outfits You can now get your hands on two new outfits after clearing certain conditions. The first one is - drum roll please - Linebeck's Uniform! It lets you see the contents of treasure chests before even opening them. Great, right? To make it even better, the other heroes you're playing with will be able to see them too, so everyone can grab exactly what they want. It even has a special power that will make your life easier in time-limited special challenges!

The other one is the Fierce Deity Armor (Fierce Deity Mail)! True to its name, it's a really fearsome outfit that can hold its own against even the Sword Master Suit. Not only does it come with increased attack power, it also shoots beams in four directions!

3. Friendly Tokens Until now, the only way to get Friendly Tokens was from the boy by the castle gates, but with the update, you'll also be able to buy them from the street merchant after completing the game.

4. New Miiverse stamps Along with the ones for the two new outfits, we've also added one of the King's face, and another one of the princess's!

5. Online Play matchmaking adjustment When it comes to playing with others, whether competitively in the coliseum or cooperatively, we know that different players may have different playstyles or experience levels. From now on, the Match Master will ask you about your preferred adventuring style and experience levels so that we can better match you with players who like adventuring in the same way as you, or are close to you in terms of experience!
12/02/2015 9:11 PM ·Spoilers
In the multiplayer lobby, you'll be able to select whether you like to "take it slow" or "keep it brisk". "Taking it slow" would mean taking your time figuring out puzzles, and is recommended for those players who aren't very confident with the controls or are new to a level. If, on the other hand, you know all the levels inside out and want to proceed at a fast pace, go ahead and choose to "keep it brisk"! We'll try to match you with other heroes who have the same adventuring style to make your time in the Drablands as fun as possible.

Similarly, in the coliseum, you'll be asked about your skill level - are you a newbie, or a veteran? Mind you, if the Match Master has reason to believe you're actually a champion combatant, he will not believe you when you claim to be a newbie, so please answer truthfully! I think it's a lot more fun to fight against heroes of a similar skill, anyway.

6. The blacklist If someone uses the pause menu to leave the game while playing with you, you will now be able to add them to your blacklist. To do so, press A or B while touching that hero's panel after they leave, but before the game begins to save.
12/02/2015 9:14 PM ·Spoilers
7. The coliseum It seems some "fake heroes" really don't like losing, and have been using the pause menu to leave mid-bout - we've now banned this sort of behaviour. However, please be aware that it's not possible to remove individual fake heroes from a blacklist once they're on there, so please use this feature carefully!

Goodness, so glad they changed the way you get Friendly Tokens. I was just one Token short from getting the Timeless Tunic.

Great stuff. Here's hoping the next update will add some sort of optional AI control of the Doppels.
