Unfortunately, the beast only drops roughly a sad 250 Exp [it says 500 Exp because of the 50% Exp increase Cloud's equipped Elise's Talisman] as compared to normal LotD's usual 1500-2400+ Exp... In a nutshell, you are better off killing the Doomstone instead of the Shadow LotD.
