That's a bummer. It stinks when game difficulty is scaled poorly. I've had other games be like this or where it seems the difficulty never increases at all.

I've logged 73 hrs on the Mario half of the game. It's really a good game. It's got a deep system.it's just not explained at all. It's all good though. It's time for a change!

You're probably not using the right characters in your party. For one thing, Ice Luigi's leader skill is inferior to Penguin Luigi's leader skill.

What helped me is a team that's composed of Fire attribute party members, with Bee Luigi and Boo Mario being my leader and helper. Bee Luigi's leader skill doubles the HP and ATK of all party members who have Fire as a main attribute or sub-attribute. Just make sure that you can attack with every available attribute though.

The reason for why I recommend using Bee Luigi as the leader is because you're able to cover all 5 attributes more easily with your ally options. If you have Double Lakitu, along with Koopa Troopa & Cheep Cheep, then you can attack with all the attributes, AND everyone would have their HP and ATK stat doubled by Bee Luigi's leader skill.
