    Sonic's "lock-on" has three levels of power. You need to make him stagger near the edge, then wait until all three "lock-on" rings fill up before hit him off the edge. Its all in the timing - go too early and he wont fall off. - go too late and he recovers from the stagger watch the lock-on rings and time it right after they fill up.
