Classic Yoshi amiibo Skin?

I keep trying to tap my Smash Bros Yoshi amiibo to get the Classic Yoshi skin, but it keeps reading as a Yarn Yoshi. Am I doing something wrong?

    Yes, there is. It's a skin that makes Yoshi look like he's made of plastic instead of yarn. You can get it with amiibo, somehow...

    1: Use classic Yoshi Amiibo in any level (IDK if you have to finish the level). 2: Go back to the Amiibo Hut. 3: Chose the classic Yoshi there. 4: Enjoy your new Yoshi costume!
