Any forms of chat?

I don't like voice chat so I ended up turning voice chat off, but I was wondering if there was text based chat in the game?

    you turn off voice chat by going into the audio settings and un-checkmarking the "Game Chat" option. also i tried USB keyboard, didn't work. Do i have to restart the game and try again or something?
