    Despite the fact that Europe is in the Eastern Hemisphere, it's considered a part of the Western world. That style of classification generally goes by culture.

    No, no! You were spot-on! Like I said, what makes a place considered a part of the Western world depends largely on factors like culture rather than its geographical location. For example, due to its heavy British influences, Australia is considered a part of the Western world despite being VERY far east.
