Will Mother 3 really be localized?

#1. Mother 1 and 2 were localized and toned down on controversial elements. #2. It would be very expensive to get a localization team for a GBA ROM that is almost 10 years old. It would either happen before the game's original release or never. I really wanna see this game localized, but I doubt it. EBB was a 23 year-old translated ROM.

  • I know, many, many Nintendo fans have, including myself. It's really frustrating but sadly that's the world we live in. Profit over demand. I'm so glad that the fan translation exists. It may seem skeptical, but Tomato has done a perfect job and fluently understands what they were going for. If you haven't played it yet, don't just wait for Nintendo to give it, get it on an emulator w/controller.

  • 1. I think that Nintendo (in order to save money) Would use the Fan translation 2. No one has complained about Mother 3's content so I don't think it would be censored like EB and EBB 3. It would be cool to have Mother 3 on Wii U in America and Europe.

  • No way. Nintendo is a multi-billion dollar company. It is illogical to use a non-profit translation they find on the Internet, despite Tomato saying that they were allowed to use it for their release. It is unprofessional of them to do so.

  • I'll jusy say, Nintendo knows the Fan Translation exist, they should just use it. It would be way easyer for Nintendo to do that instead of Nintendo translateing it themselfs.

  • It would be easier, yes, but they would have to go through the content to make sure it is appropriate for Western audiences.
