I just recently got my gamecube adapter, it works thankfully. I've been using my MadCatz GameCube controller and its amazing IMO, and I've been doing things I was never able to do on the ClassicPro such as pivot grabs and spot dodging, but here's the question... ARE 3rd PARTY [GC] CONTROLLERS LEGAL IN TOURNAMENTS? I'm not talking about small ones, I'm talking about EVO right now.. Just curious...

  • Good question. Official EVO rules say that if it's a 3rd party controller that connects to a dongle, like the MadCatz ones, then it's accepted. (I don't know what they mean by 'dongle' x])

  • Thank you so much for answering, I recently looked this up to see if they're legal, but apparently in small tournaments they're accepted, but in big ones like EVO the TURBO button cound be a red flag to some people so it's reasonable to "ban" them in big tournaments...

  • Even wireless controllers are banned somehow, even the gamepad, 3ds, and 2ds...don't know if that applies to small tournaments as well...

  • I typed →cound← without even realizing it, I meant to type "could"... My apologies...

  • Couldn't reply to this for some reason. Anyway, from what I heard; the 2DS, 3DS & gamepad are prohibited because they cause interference. Not sure what they mean, but, why are Wii U pro controllers legal then? Rules are just 'funky'. I suppose they don't want wireless controllers 'cause every now and then people pull off that 'my controller powered off' move. x[
