can this be bought in a variety of stores or only on download from Nintendo E'shop?

gamepad charger broke so i can't get anything from it

I had the same problem. Gamestop sells a usb charging cable that's pretty long. Just plug it into any usb port like those in the Wii u, and into your gamepad.
