Can somebody tell me what this awakening emera is doing? I think that it's making all attacks used on me miss and boosting my attack.

I just wish it didn't run out over time... Also, it only seemed to block attacks from the front.

Yeah, you are invincible only to all attacks from the front, you will take damage if you get attacked from behind or from the side.
