Missed Gamepad Potential

How is there no gamepad features other than off-TV play? There so much that it could be used for! Things like inventory management, map display, crafting with the touch controls, placing blocks without having to use the awful analog stick controls are among the many things it could be used for. There's just so much missed potential!

    I agree. however, i believe Mogang did this in order to not give the Wii U any advantages over other consoles with the gameplay. No matter if you play on PS4 or PC; they didn't want Wii U to be any different. Although it's true they had a chance, they just thought it'd be for the best that they didn't "take that route."

    The only reason there's no gamepad implementation is the fact that they don't care about this port, nothing more. There's a clear advantage in having mouse and keyboard controls for Minecraft, but that didn't stop them from making console versions.

    Well. the reason it has an advantage in the first place is because Minecraft is an indie game. It was created for PC. They honestly had no choice for when creating the Minecraft for consoles, they at most tried to go for the console's limit in gaming (ex. microphones, controllers, television, etc) It's not that they don't care, it's that they did their best and what we have IS in fact, their best.

    that's why they're giving us continuous updates to keep up with the PC edition. If they didn't care about the consoles, they would... 1. only make the game and NO updates 2. wouldn't make a console edition AT ALL 3. (WiiU only) wouldn't care about tablet's possibilities Just cause we can only use the tablet screen as a separate tv screen does NOT mean they don't care at all.
