Multiplayer????????

How do I play local multiplayer!?!?!? It's not working and I can't find anything online to help!!!!!!?????? Please help!!!!!

I have a Wii U Pro Controller. I'm trying to use that while my brother's using the gamepad, but I can't get it to work.

I found a video and I followed it exactly, but it didn't work.
