Is this game TRULY worth it?

I have Minecraft on my PC, but I'm not sure if this is worth a christmas gift. My mom's nit too keen on me playing it on computer due to security reasons. So, I want this for public play. Is it worth it's $30 price tag?

    Ask yourself these questions: -You like games that have little to no story objectives? -You want to share your creations on Miiverse? -Are you interested in the Off-TV play Minecraft Wii U offers? -Are you alright with the maps being 852x852 (not infinite or bigger than that)?
