Text Chat In MineCraft Wii U?

Hello I'm getting this game for Christmas and I would just like to know if this game has text chat. I've seen a few rumours on the internet but I've yet to see any gameplay proof so if you could just answer this question it would be great.

    i bought this game a few hours ago and so far, no. although you can use a microphone on multiplayer.

    I've heard it's sadly no different from other consoles... not sure why that is, but we can probly blame either Mojang or Microsoft...

    I just Googled "Minecraft Wii U USB keyboard" and got hits on a zillion game sites. I don't own the game yet but I'm guessing if you hook up a USB keyboard you can type messages.
