Custom Yoshis?

Aw, I thought I read you could make your own yarn Yoshi designs. Was I mistaken? I'm not seeing an option for it.

    Sorry, you cannot make your own yoshi in the game, but you can choose from three designs for each yoshi in the yoshi hut.
