I guess I do have a complaint about the characters. The fact that your partner has separate living quarters makes the relationship between you and them seem a lot less personal. I'd honestly prefer the classic 'I wanna form a rescue team!' kind of deal where you actually build as a character with your partner. Not that the characters seem flat here, but there's a much less intimate bond here.

Oh, also! I hate how every few minutes you're reminded that your character is a child. This game could do without the childishness. That's what I loved about the other games. They were so deep and they prodded at your emotions. I don't like the idea of a mystery dungeon game that doesn't make you cry, and I certainly hope this game won't disappoint.

I'm not sure why it bothers me though. Probably because you wake up and your partner isn't there, creating a sense of loneliness for a Mystery Dungeon title.
