    After finishing the main story, talk to Lapras and select the following choices: 'Visit the remote parts of the world', 'Sea of Wonders', then 'Tree of Life'. Talk to the Pokemon there and you can evolve Pokemon you've connected with. You may need to reach a minumum level first, and certain Pokemon related to the storyline can't evolve.

    Also, you can't evolve your main character and partner until you finish the epilogue storyline, but it's not too long in this game.
