In all MarioKart today stays relatively similar to the original Mariokarts games like Double Dash for the Game Cube. The similarity isn't a bad thing. Today game developers try to change games in order to make them new and original and that alright but if a game works there's no need to change it to much. If a game is change to much the original imspration and ideal behing the original is lost.
