    i figured out that the answer is yes and no. when you bump into someone with triple mushrooms, you get the speed boost, but they still have the mushroom. this does not apply to the lucky 8 items since i bumped into a lucky 8 person and stool their star.

    Same here. Did you know: if you look closely at the dark island in the city below rainbow road (N64), you'll see the Statue of Peach from Toad Harbor, confirming that it hovers over the same city as Toad Harbor. It's also belived that Toad's Turnpike is locatee in the same city. Some call this city "Toad City".
