My R button doesn't work so is there a way that I can still get past this part?

I think you can use alliances through the menu thing? You might only be able to set them, but maybe it will work. Give it a try!

Apparently blowing really hard into the l or r buttons like you would with a balloon can fix them. I have never tried this, so I cannot confirm it works.

My old 3ds l and r butons broke THE NOSTALGIA (sorry) so i went online an found out u can jus blow into teh side of either one while rapidly pressing it then experimant w the dif. positions to presw it in (really hard)

Yeah, I couldn't get passed the tutorial dungeon with Nuzleaf, my L button is broken... but I used my brother's 3DS, but now I can't play it when my brother is playing...
