    For the marriage proposal, the other Mii doesn't screw it up, the player does, because you're helping the proposing Mii understand when to say something at the right moment. If YOU screw it up, then you have to wait until a Mii from the couple wants to propose again.

    To be specific, you have to go to a dating islander's Friend List. There, you will see where it says "Sweetheart". If under that is dark green written words saying "Let's Get Married!", you're in luck! If not, check the other dating Mii's status. If both aren't that serious yet, just wait.

    I'm talking about each individual person dating. Okay, here's an example: Mike and Molly were dating. Molly had the stronger feelings, so she wanted to propose to Mike. If you want to know WHY Molly wants to propose to Mike, it's because her Friend List says in dark green letters under the word "Sweetheart": Let's Get Married!
