    No, Cloud didn't come from the ballot, either. Cloud was highly requested back in the day. And he never said we'd get more than one fighter.

    As far as I remember, he didn't say anything about us getting multiple characters from the Smash Ballot. The only character that came out that was even mentioned with the Ballot was Bayonetta. So yea, no other character aside from her had anything to do with it

    And to your opinion about them solely celebrating the characters and video games and it not also being about advertising is a bit wrong. It can be both, and it has been about both. Here's an example from Brawl. They were planning to have Sakurai create and release Kid Icarus Uprising after Brawl. So they reintroduced Pit and Palutena in Brawl in order to gain interest for them again

    Well Nintendo did a heck ton of advertising for Splatoon in all facets. But yea, celebrating video games is about of what Smash is about, but at the same time it can be used as advertisement. It's not aggressive advertisement, but it can be advertisement none the less. Cause any character put into Smash will immediately generate interest in that character and their games.

    You're missing the point that it can be both about celebration and about advertising. Their advertising characters to promote their games isn't a bad thing. It's a good thing.

    I know, but do you think it matters how relevant each Nintendo franchise in Snash is? Because dozens of people think Fire Emblem has too much representation for a game that's not as relevant as Pokemon.

    Yes and no, Fire Emblem is getting a lot of reps in order to further keep interest in the series alive. Before FE Awakening was released, they were planning for it to be the final game in the series if it didn't sell well. But it sold great, and they want to further the interest in the series. And FE characters are picked by how relevant they are at that time.

    Xenoblade and Mother both have huge fanbases as well. My opinion is the more the merrier. As long as it's not too crazy in picks.

    Alright. And I watched the final broadcast again, it turns out Sakurai DIDN'T say they put in Corrin to advertise his game! He's in it because Sakurai thought to include him!

    You realize they don't have to say it. Honestly if he did blatantly said "I put in Corrin to advertise the game" there would be a bigger backlash about Corrin. Sakurai put Corrin in, but it's still a way of advertising the game in the US before it comes out a month after Corrin does.

    Alright. But Roy, Ryu and Cloud got in because they were requested and to celebrate their eShop games (my opinion). And if it's to advertise the games, why didn't Mother 3 come to the eShop when Lucas became DLC???
