    Why pikachu? I think yoshi is top 10/15 but his lack of an effective short hop and floaty mechanics make him hard to use in the neutral. sonic, fox, falcon, mario, cloud and even ness are just a few i think can beat those 2 easily. Thoughts?

    Palutena is a pretty viable character. You just have to use her right and not Spam B. Her Up Smash has tremendous reach, her reflect stays for a while, her tilts are good, Her side taunt is perfect, and she has a marth level meteor.

    I think palutena is bad without customs, aside from her up aerial and back air. Lack of damage output and combos makes her very unrewarding. Her side and down smashes rarely hit and her tilts have too much end lag

    I personally think Pikachu outclasses Ryu. Pikachu's mobility, recovery options, combos, a spammy projectile, an Up Smash that seems about as good as Fox's, and the Up B Ledge Cancel trick. I will admit though: I haven't seen a whole lot of competitive Ryu players, so I'm not entirely qualified to make this claim.

    Palutena has a counter, reflector, and a decent projectile. She's the ultimate defensive character. Also, 2 down throw combos, and one of them kills.
