Ga Jiarg seems like he's the closest thing that Xenoblade Chronicles X has to an equivalent to Egil from the original. That said though, he's not nearly as good a character as Egil was.

    Robert, one question about Xenoblade X. If you start a new savefile would you lose the progress in your previous one? It's because i want to make a new avatar that looks like Groose, because i really don't feel like putting myself into the game, and Groose is perfect.
