Err.. did they fix/change/break being able to use more than one Great Ball now? I CLEARLY had enough Coins to use another one when I was trying to catch a Pokémon, but then the game went "lolnope" and let it run away...

  • it doesn't happen a lot but sometimes the pokemon can flee the battle.

  • Yeah, it's random whether you get to throw another ball or not unfortunately. In my experience, it seems to allow them to flee more often when you miss with a higher percent capture than a lower one. Probably just RNG/Luck in the end.

  • I must've been super lucky, then. This was literally the first time I've ever seen this happen ever since they first implemented... well... being able to use more than one Great Ball.

  • The thing that matters here is: What Pokémon was? Was it hard to beat? Whatever the case is, I hope you get another chance.

  • What?! It's random? I thought 3 consecutive Great Balls were the max so as not to deplete coins. Good to know, I guess.

  • (Running low on posts, so I'll make this quick.) @Ryu Suzaku: I had near max Coins when I was playing the new Main Stages, so I had the mindset of just catching everything regardless of how much I was gonna spend. Then this happened. @AURA NOIR: I didn't even know 3 was the limit. I really must've lucked out, then o.o

  • @Nao★Mi: The maximum is not 3, I have used more than that if I recall correctly. I don't even know if there is a max.

  • No response needed, but now that I've acquired info from everyone here, I'll take EVERY advantage of any Great Ball that is presented. Plus that screenshot of Nao★Mi's is unsettling!

  • the steelix stage was terrible i did it about a month ago had 96% with a great ball didn't even get one shake just hoped out and fled before i could throw another. i just sat there thinking about how screwed my life was for around and hour.

  • Also, I'd hope there would be a cap on the use of Great Balls. 10,000 coins on a single capture? I'd opt for another battle. But that's just me.

  • @Ryu Suzaku: Oh, okay. Good to know. @AURA NOIR: That image is just my default "Use this to post anything!" pic. I grabbed it during a screen transition and thought "This is actually decent." Anyway, while I could agree with you on your other reply, don't forget about the one-chance-per-day events... @jacob: Gotta love RNG, huh? (And with that, I take my leave for now.)

  • Yeah there is a random flee chance after any great ball, it can flee on the first or stick around till you catch it on your twenty-third. Annoying when you spend coins to beat a stage and even killing in one turn doesn't get you to 50% catch rate.

  • @Stuart- 23rd? Who did that?! 23 Great Balls? CoinBurnFest 2016! That made me cringe just reading it! (Haha!)

  • @AURA NOIR: I think that was just an example, though I'll cringe with you if that ended up being true x.x

  • The math on that is 57,000. Roughly. Ouch! And I'm done here. I'll see if I can add to your Q & A some more. Still keeping it open?

  • It'll stay open till at most Tuesday on midnight. If something else comes up before then, I'll close it sooner, but I'll make a comment as to why beforehand.

  • Okay, then, 100000/2500=40... So 39 would burn a max amount of coins WAY TOO MUCH.

  • Yeah it was just an example, at some point it's just better to forget the great balls and re-do the stage even if it does cost you items.

  • there was one time I use 4 great balls on one catch "lucky I got it on the end", but god that drop my coins like 'zooom'!

  • The running-away thing usually only happens when I miss multiple times in a row, but it usually doesn't happen until after the 3rd or 4th miss. I think only 1 time did I miss once & then it ran away, but it was on a very rare/special Pokémon (might've even been Arçeus), so I just assumed that was a special circumstance. I didn't think it was always random & could, @ any time, happen after 1 miss.
