So... this is the 23rd time in a row a Pokemon at 70% or above escaped. I suppose it's the whole 'as you approach infinity the probability should match up' thing. Or it's rigged. Either way, meh.

Not rigged. You just have bad luck with RNG (random number generator). Look it up for more info. Basically in this game, 1% catches are possible, while 99% catches can fail.
