  • Pretty good! I'm digging how you're aiming for that semi-realism but still keeping your style. I think the lips/mouth is positioned a little off. It's facing a bit too forward and nudged too far to the right.

  • For criticism, there isn't too much to say- your shading is fantastic! The only major problem I see is the eyes. There a little big proportion-wise. Other than that it looks great!

  • Aww yeah supernatural ^o^ I gotta get back to that show.. I'm still on season 7. I gotta say the show gets real silly in the later seasons As for the drawing, I suggest blending out the contours on the right side of the face And maybe adding some more backlighting to the hair and jacket Its lookin super good though •0•)b Dean is my favourite too

  • Finer lines if possible with slightly more definition. That way things don't blend into the background. Hmmm... Other than that I believe the other comments have it covered. Still a great art piece doh!

  • As my art teacher says "needs more contrast, could use more development in certain areas, Angel stop poking people with the paintbrush"... wise words. o-o

  • Im on season two. Much catch up. Yeah, proportions are definitely my big thing to work on, though with a lot of the lighting, especially on the jacket, the way it comes out on miiverse, it darkens up a lot so ill have to lighten it. Thank you guys for your opinions and ideas OuO

  • Ooos, wrote the response on the wrong account. My response is just two upXD @uncle V It does say constructive criticism, to help me improve in this particular style of portrait. If you want to be rude just for the sake of it, I will do whatever actions are necessary.

  • That's because you haven't actually SAID anything that pertains to the art piece, you've just stated that you might say something bad about it....

  • You can't assume that my theoretical negative comment is going to be rude, but I have to ask if it'll get me in trouble. (I blame no one.) I'm not scared to speak my mind, I just need to know if I'll still be able to afterward.

  • Actually I'd like a definition of that word when I'm done. I need to explain it to other people too. Anyway, this is some of the best semi-realistic stuff I've seen in a long time. But I think he (and this is the part I was flaking over.) kinda looks like a fish: lips are a little thick and eyes are a little big. However, I love the costume and the lighting. Really dedicated to the real thing.

  • Constructive criticism is sharing your opinion on something and providing why in a valid a well-reasoned way, positive and negative. What it is: "I like how you..." "I think this can be improved by..." When an artist is willing to improve and wants criticism, it -should- mean that they acknowledge that there's flaws and want to know what can be improved or what they're already doing right.

    Yeahs2
  • Saying something negative doesn't make it rude unless it's put in a rude way. But it may not always be welcome when it's unsolicited, even if you're just trying to help. And some just take it the wrong way. What it's NOT: "I like it." "I hate it." "It's great!" What about it do you like/dislike? Simply praising isn't very helpful if someone wants to improve, as encouraging as it may be.

    Yeahs2
  • Constructive criticism doesn't need to include both positive and negative points, but by stating the positives you show that you're on their side and want to support what they're doing, and can make it easier to digest the negative points. Put simply, it's giving feedback without being a jerk and by being specific as you can. Suggesting ways to improve is also a big plus if you're knowledgeable.

  • I appreciate the explanation, @Krauss. Seriously, this insight is why I follow ya. Although I don't consider myself to be a jerk, and I try real hard to follow similar rules, it's getting harder to speak freely without being called things. This situation turned out great. I can count the many ways it could've gone wrong but didn't, and I thank everyone for being so cool about this.

    Yeahs0
  • Thank you for your opinion V, and not rude or anything. Always feel free to speak your mind and stuff. And thank you for the explanation panda krauss
