I have a hunch that we will be seeing the return of the Ooccoo, or at least their evolutionary ancestors in Zelda U... Perhaps in Zelda U, we can finally see where all this "ancient technology" comes from. If you recall the enemies from the Zelda U trailer, they seemed almost mechanical, and had that blue glow. The blue glow we see in "ancient technology" throughout the series.
