    That one had me stumped too. There's a lever to the left, hitting that makes the large gear change it's rotation. Then moving the smaller, closest (to the large gear) gear, and also activating the large gear. That should work.

    Took me a while to beat that boss, because my strategy with fights is a bit slow. Have one teammate out that's effective against an enemy present (Aroura for the grim reaper and Finn for the actual boss, not sure about the other guy). Then have Oengus as the other ally. Use Taunt with him and then his armor ability. Have him take all the hits while your other character widdles down the oppnent.

    Eventually, Oengus will get low on health. Send out Rubella to heal or use a potion. I'd also recommend using Tristis to give Ultimate Armor to Oengus, keeps the HP higher.
