    Who says you can't? You can use this one glitch to go out of bounds. The rocks and trees lack any collision detection so you'd walk right through them. If you go out too far you'll fall through the floor. I also saw a flat bush on top of a hill. Too bad I have no images to show you.

    Oh wait you were talking about the forcefield. Since you could actually stand on the ground out of bounds it may be possible that you were meant to explore Hyrule Field early in development but the idea might have been scrapped due to time contraints and they didn't add hit detection to the rocks and trees. I heard that they could have spent another year developing this game if they added that in.
