I'm just noticing this now. The letters are red when its talkin about the wind. maybe thats referencing the wind waker. not sure.....Back to Majoras Mask.. When you play the _ of emptiness (i forget the name) it makes a monument of the deceased being that played the song. Depending on what form ur in. If you play it as Link, it too makes a monument, again implying that hes in fact dead.

    When you encounter the last spirit before encountering Zelda for the first time, Midna highlights in red, "Don't know" and "you"; Either they highlight the most important stuff or they are REALLY obsessed with wind in LoZ.
