I kind of wish these magic users had been the antagonists of the game, or at least part of it instead of Zant and Ganondorf. Zant loses a lot of his appeal once he's revealed just to be a henchman, and Ganondorf doesn't feel remotely as menacing as he did in OoT and WW, whereas these guys are apparently so good with magic that they can vaporize Link at will.
