    Hmmm... I don't know. Maybe he's worried he'll die to some lesser threat and it will get lost? I mean unless Ganon shows up he really doesn't NEED to carry it around. Or maybe he just doesn't feel like lugging it around everywhere. :P

    i think its cause he need to put it back for the next hero and to keep it safe cause once it go's in only the hero can pull it out and since its a vary powerful weapon he doesn't want it to fall in the wrong hands or maybe it has a purpose like in WW how it froze time ;)

    Its a ancient weapon, so maybe he thinks it could break on him at any time. He uses it a bit then [carefully] puts it back

    It purpose is to be a silver bullet to evil. it is used only when necessary to vanquish any pure for of evil (mostly ganondorf). I feel stupid, but does it get returned in twilight princess? i can't remember
