Who will win Mario or Sonic?

who I think whos gonna win is both of them why will sonic can probably choke mario with his huge legs ( that are maybe 50 stores high ) and mario can drown sonic in the money his games make witch might be more then the coins in his levels. And thats why I think whos gonna win ( by the way for sonic fans like me we all know sonic is gonna win

    "Mario games are better." That's highly debatable and purely subjective. I've yet to play a single Mario game that gave me the same amount of joy Sonic games give me. It all comes down to personal preference. For example, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 are both exponentially better games than Mario 64 or Sunshine imho.

    @Matthias: Mario is more influencial than Sonic, but that says nothing about which character is better. Sonic's natural abilities dwarf Mario's and some people like myself much prefer Sonic games over Mario games. Sonic actually has a personality and dialogue, while Mario is essentially a static charicature that hasn't changed/developed over the past 30 years. I prefer personality on characters.

    If you're speaking about history, Sonic helped to cement SEGA as a legitimate threat to Nintendo's dominance at the time. Yes Nintendo saved the industry, but they were likely to run it into the ground again just like Atari did; when a product has no substantial competition the industry as a whole suffers. SEGA was the 1st to really challenge Nintendo & forced them to make a successor to the NES.

    In SSB4, both of them are very good, but Sonic is currently top tier while Mario is high tier. Still, they're both extremely viable so I won't debate that point any further. As far as canonical feats are concerned, Sonic would absolutely destroy Mario. The stuff Sonic destroys dwarfs most of Mario's accomplishments. Sonic has stopped deities, ultimate life forms, space stations, an air fleet, etc.

    Really, there's no question which of them would win in a fight. Sonic has simply done more impressive things than Mario, and Sonic is less reliant on power-ups. If you personally prefer Mario or his games then that's fine, but you'd have to either know nothing about Sonic games or be completely delusional to think Mario would beat Sonic.
