For real, did Twilight Princess really need an HD remaster? I mean the Wii version is playable on Wii U, and looks totally fine on its own. Opinions?

    The Wii version isn't fun. They remade it so people could play the original version that was made for the GameCube. And also they wanted to give it a fresh run around since it'll be directly connected to Zelda U, as has been confirmed by Eiji Aonuma, the Creative Director for Zelda U.

    Personally, I loved the Wii version. To each his own, I suppose. Ah, didn't know about the Zelda U connection. That's neat. TP is one of my favorites.

    As someone who played and still owns both (never beat it on wii) the U version is vastly superior. When played on the U, the Wii upscaled HD gets owned by the true HD of the U. Also, the controls are much better on the U. and also the gamepad giving you realtime access to your inventory or map seals the deal!

    Playing the Wii version with the Wiimote controls gave me a headache, and prevented me from replaying it, unlike other Zelda games. Similarly, I haven't completed Skyward Sword for the same reason. TP graphics for the Wii were still stunning, but using the gamepad for this remake was worth the purchase & nostalgia, as well as the bonus CD soundtrack & Wolf Link Amiibo that came with purchase. ;>

    Also, even though this is for all U games pretty much... getting to take the gamepad to bed and just chill and play Twilight Princess before I fall asleep is awesome! Wii U version for the win!

    I always felt the wii version was lacking in visuals due to the limitations of the system. Don't get me wrong for a wii game it was great but not what it could have been had it been in HD. The HD remake was a much needed and much appreciated update to an already great game.
