Everyone and their mothers have attempted some kind of realistic Link. Had to join the bandwagon.

  • Starting to look unhuman LOL. The secret to achieving shadows is to use purples, blues, or greens. Try to avoid black, skin is very warm, both black and white are HARSHLY cool colors. Using black can make skin look unnatural. The trick with purple is it's still somewhat a warm color ;) .

  • Now, just because I have a lot a of experience doesn't mean I don't make mistakes LOL. I added more of that bright color next to the face and realized I added a wee bit too much purple. See how the coolness of the purple kinda makes the skin look dead? I'll add a bit more red next to counter that. It's weaving colors on top of colors that I find so much fun, anyways.

  • Added deep red with a touch of purple, I'll smudge it to see how it looks. One thing I've noticed with the smudge tool is that it tends to lift medium. (means to erase) So I went a little dark since I have a feeling the smudge stick is gonna lighten it a little bit.

  • Yep, just as espected, Its a little lighter, but not too much ;). I'll leave it for now and work on highlights.

  • Now, same as black, white is a VERY cool color, so avoid using it with skin. Now the reason I used yellow is because it not only adds warmth to it, but it's the color of the lightsource used on miis. Luckily the pallet supplied us with the exact color we needed. [1st one on the left side] Side note: If you look closely at my Link picture, I used bright blues, implies he is outdoors.

  • When I use the smudge tool, I smudge in circles, a little bit like mixing chocolate milk, mixing back and forth in the cup doesn't quite quite balance the mix.

  • Alrighty this is as far as I'm going on my mii. Keep in mind mii features work like "stickers" and purposfully look stickerish too. That's also what makes people so difficult, the face is madeup of tons of shapes. I'm excited to watch you progress on bayonetta so post often! If you would like, I'll give critiques (another word for help) along the way. Keep it up!!

  • I have no idea if this is coming out good or not. Also, where should I add the reds?

  • YES! it is! look at that! Reds tend to be found around the nose and cheeks area, make sure to look at lots of pictures of her! the red on her is very slight! As my teacher always told me, look at the picture/subject twice, and back at your own picture once, then repeat process :)
