Noel has gone though many strange and, sadly, tragic things in her 24 years of life. But, with the help of friends, she's manage to get past most of them. Unfortunately, she still mistrusts most strangers, and spurns any romantic advances, often preferring to respond with snark, and dry-wit. Though she is kind and caring to her brother, serving as a wise mentor as he deals with his own problems.

It's actually not true, she absolutely loves Christmas. She just pretends to not like Christmas so that, one day, she can meet Santa. Because, as you know, Santa always shows up to teach the true meaning of Christmas to nonbelievers.

The basic concept of the show I'm developing is putting characters that follow normal human logic against tropes and situations that you'd only find in movies, books, tv, etc., and all the comedy/drama that goes with it, though not in the ways you'd expect. So meeting Santa is not out of the realm of possibilities.
