Hi Zelda fans! How are y'all doing?Say, when you're playing and enjoying a Zelda game, don't you get a little frustrated when you think of all the things you have to do in the game (side quests, heart pieces, bottles, skulltulas etc.)?

  • It's true, yes, but at the same time that make the game even bigger, and the discovering of secrets, at least in Twilight Princess, is a very fun part.

  • No, because you don't have to do them. They're all optional, but help if you do go after them. Anyone getting frustrated by 'having' to collect all the heart pieces etc is entirely self imposed. If you're that way inclined never play open world RPG'S! haha

  • You don't have to do them. I like the side quests and skultullas. Heart pieces and bottles help in the game. It's just all part of the adventure.

  • David and Didi, so true.I just wanted to say, that if you're willing to do them, isn't a little frustrating?Well, apart from to each his/her own, if you're having fun doing them, it's totally fine. And I'm sure that most Zelda fans enjoy doing them.

  • I don't find them frustrating at all. Maybe because of the type of gamer I am. Some people like to get through a game quickly. I like to take my time with a game.

  • I think didi is spot on, if anything the heart pieces in particular are an incentive to explore the world more. You're rewarded for going off the beaten track and seeing all the game has to offer. In that way it's not frustrating at all, more encouraging. There'll be some that are tricky to get of course but most people will find at least half without issue.

  • Aleksander, sorry bro, I forgot to mention that you're right as well ^^.Didi and David, I couldn't agree more, but as Didi said, some gamers like to play different from others.Of course, what you said David, it's totally true, but I'd say that not everyone sees things that way (about the games).

  • True, different people enjoy different aspects of a game. But as I pointed out initially if you're getting frustrated by optional collectables/side quests it's entirely on the individual, the games never force you to do that or tell you to. If you don't like it don't do it, rather simple really. There's never that much to do anyhow, it's always been quite manageable.

    Yeahs2
  • David, that's right about the different types of gamers. And of course it's up to everyone to do or not the optional side quests. As for the games being manageable, if you understand the mechanics and how they work (in the games), then you can beat them no problem.
