With these MiGs, no doubt its hinting at the Air War. If you didn't know, F-4 Phantoms were the primary Fighter escort for B-52s in the Air war over Veitnam and MiG 21s were the ones trying to shoot down the B-52s to stop the bombing runs that were turning the tide of said war. Brilliant little easter egg game designers.
