    Starting in 1983, the video game industry was failing badly, until 1985, when Nintendo made a game that would change video games forever. That game, was Super Mario Bros. for the NES and Famicom. Super Mario Bros. is a side-scrolling platformer, where Mario defeats enemies, such as the goombas and koopa troopas, as he gets to the castle at the end of each World.

    There are 8 Worlds in the game, with 4 levels in each. The fourth level in each World is a Castle-themed level, where you beat a fake Bowser in the end(except in World 8, where you fight the real Bowser). The game gets noticeably harder as you progress, seen with the inclusion of enemies like the dreaded Bloopers and Hammer Bros. in later levels.

    Super Mario Bros. was the best-selling video game of all time, until Wii Sports beat the record. It has also been recently surpassed by Tetris. Super Mario Bros. is one of the greatest video-games of all time, and has been ported to almost every system EVER! If you want to thank someone for making these great new games possible, you can thank this game, because they wouldn't exist without it.
