Why do they Spam?

Spammers...They all come in different shapes and sizes, but they are easy to avoid and counterattack. But why do they spam? To troll players? To make themselves look bad? To win desperately? Because they are bad players or beginners?

  • Either the opponent is inexperienced or it's the players fault for not punishing the spammer consistently. If I can throw out a move brainlessly, and not get punished for it ever, why would I change my strategy?

  • It depends on what they're spamming and who they're spamming with. If you're fighting a Mega Man or Duck Hunt and they spam projectiles, can you blame them? Some fighters, like those mentioned, have no melee capabilities whatsoever. Projectiles are their only viable option; once you get them in your reach, they're finished. Any other type of spam? What Keven said.
