Based on my observations, many species of the popular user appear to have Bug-eyed, Mii characters that closely resembles an anime character. They may likely have cat-ears as well. This also applies to users who have high online rankings in online Nintendo games. Perhaps looks really do matter here in the strange world of Miiverse?

    Well, I'm not a popular user, but I will admit that I made my Mii have bigger eyes and smile a couple of months ago to make it more "expressive." I'm pretty happy with how it is now, and don't plan to put sunglasses or ears on it or anything like that.
