I just watched a montage of old home videos of kids getting their very first N64 for Christmasin 1996 and I cannot tell you the flood of emotions and nostalgia that it hit me like a fret train. I remember when my sis and I had gotten ours too. Man, am I really that old now?

  • Welcome to the club!!! I remember opening my first game system- An atari 2600 with the wood grain... Years later my little bro asked me '' whats an atari...'' i just walked away in old person shame lol.

  • @FenrisWolf: Oh gosh xD "Whippersnappes these days!" lol Atari is so classic and it does make me sad that kids during this generation rarley know the grandfather of gaming or any of it's previous predecessors! It's funny because I never had realized how much I miss being young again, going back to when I was maybe 8 opening that present from "Santa" to find an N64 with Super Smash Bros. with it.

  • @FenrisWolf: Haha I just looked it on Google! Pretty intense hardware right there! I don't think I could've figured out how to hook that thing up even of I tried lol It seems like it was made to be a bit more stronger than Atari.

  • yup. it was a way better system but died off by not catering to the ppl with ''ease of access''. kinda like how vhs won over betamax, or those tiny cds lost to blueray... sad really.

  • @FenrisWolf: Makes sense. A lot of things usually not built to compensate with modern man and for his love of simplicity usually end up burning out lol. It looks like it could've had potential. Sega Dreamcast, ahh what a shame. I remember loving that thing. If I recall correctly, it was because Sega was not so experienced with graphics so it died out.

  • Oh totally rad! I bet it was hard to play xD I love when people can get their hands on devices that don't come o other countries for months! It's like you are ahead of the times xD My dad said when he was litle in Japan, they had arcades and color. His favorite game was a taran like guy that would swing from a tree lol Then, when he came to the USA (My grandfather was in the Air Force so they~

  • moved a lot) he said all they had was Pinball. He asked his friend if they had arcades and he said they gave him a look as if he had three heads lol It must be odd at times to be so far advanced and not know about it through social media or the internet in general lol

  • I wish I was born around the time Atari came out. To be one of the very first gamers to play on Atati? Would've been so cool personally. I know I see people sell Atari online but with modern LCD TV's I don't think the cords will work lol
