Why won't she love meh?!

Help! Everyday I go out and get bamboo things for her, but her heart won't go up! And I've been doing it for about 7 days now! I even started making offerings to the Harvest Goddess to do it for me! What can I do to speed up this process? And if you can't give me my answer, then at least please tell me how to prevent that attitude-stained Gray from marrying her!

    If your still checking this after so long, ther's a garbage can in square for tossing garbage. Also, you have to do/meet certain requirements to get Maria's heart events. There's a point where it's hard to get it even if you do it right. I gave up on her. I hope you had good luck with her.
