It'd be nice if the trainers in Pokémon Sun and Moon actually, you know, switched when their active Pokémon is in a bad matchup. Really, that's all it would take to make the games challenging; increasing the level curve would help too to prevent the player from becoming overleveled as easily, but improving the battle AI should be the top priority.
