So...I've been thinking-after these supposed trade-marking of the names Solgaleo, Lunaala, and Gigareki...what if this means the region-and everything else about Pokemon Sun and Moon-is based off of Africa..? I'll have to explain this later-but if you're interested, comment for notifs! I'll give you my theories.

  • i think pokemon sun and moon is based of Hawaii there is several resons for what i think but one of them is: you know the guy who goes to hotels and if you speak to him every day,one day he will give you a strange object that comes from a far away place?well since kalos is based of of France Hawaii is far away and the strange object looks like a totem but its just my opinion

  • I actually have a really complex theory for the Africa-theme...and it's not just Africa-it's Hawaii too. Solgaleo and Lunaala are constellation pokemon-they aren't so much the sun and moon, but are the 'stars'. (I'll have to explain later. Bye for now!)

  • Anyway, what I mean to explain by 'constellation' is...although these two pokemon represent the sun and moon, it seems-by way of their names and the language origins they come from-that they represent the stars more. 'Sol', 'Luna', and 'Ala' are all Spanish/Portuguese prefixes, and back in the 1500s/1600s most explorers travelling around the world were from those two countries, or Italy.

  • What I'm saying is is that these legendary pokemon have to do with exploration-which is already a big theme in Pokemon. The Sun and Moon were also used by explorers to tell the time of day, which direction they were going, and even their location sometimes. It just makes sense. :/ PLUS, these explorers are the people who discovered the continents of Africa and islands similar to Hawaii...

    Yeahs2
  • That's just one part of my theory. There's more, if you want to know. :3
